Oregon Cider Week Events!

A cider a day...
Just when you thought the month of June in Portland couldn't possibly get any more awesome--what with all the amazing craft beer events crammed into it--here comes Oregon Cider Week to make it completely off the chain...or hook, or whatever other exclamatory cliche you want to use! It's DYN-O-MITE!

Oregon Cider Week runs from June 18th through the 28th (11 days) and there's a fun event happening every day. Here are some of the highlights:

The big event is Cider Summit Portland, June 19th and 20th at The Fields Neighborhood Park, NW 10th and Overton, Portland. It's a pleasant, grassy, outdoor venue on the riverfront. It is also DOG friendly, so you can bring your friendly dog along.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door (cash only onsite) and are available online HERE. Admission includes a 5th anniversary souvenir tasting glass and 8 tasting tickets. Additional tasting tickets will be available for sale onsite for $2 per ticket.

A special VIP ticket is available for $40. This ticket includes 4 additional tasting tickets and early admission on Friday from 2PM-3PM. Only 200 of these tickets are available - exclusively online via the event website.

150 different ciders from a multitude of cider producers will be available for tasting. Live music and food. Should be a great event!

OMSI After Dark - Cider & Seeds sound like a fun and educational grown-up event. June 24th at 7PM. Admission is $25 for non-members and $15 for members. The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry will toast the history, tradition and science that goes into crafting cider and other fruity treats. There  will be cider samples and all kinds of science-y stuff. 21+ only.

Kennedy School Cider Dinner - 7PM, Thursday, June 18th at McMenamins Kennedy School, 5736 NE 33rd Avenue, Portland - Kennedy School Executive Chef Chris Lawrence has created a sumptuous menu, which will be paired with Edgefield ciders-apple, cherry and pomegranate-as well as Bordelet Sydre from France. $75 per person. Also, for just $5 a glass, McMenamins offers their Edgefield Cider in original apple and seasonal cherry at all locations in Oregon.

Reverend Nat's Cider is hosting a list of events as long as my arm. Tons of fun stuff that you should absolutely make an effort to attend. I know I'm going to try my best! Take a look at the full monty line-up HERE.

All in all, Oregon Cider Week, combined with PDX Beer Week, is going to make June the grooviest, boss-est, most bitchin'-est Portland June ever! (Sorry, I'm having unrelated 60's flashbacks for some reason.) I can't wait! See you all out there!
